Signature Sizes too big - Please Read

Post by Zendragon » Thu Sep 16, 2004 10:03 am

ATTENTION: to everyone who has large graphic and or long signature... please make them smaller. This message board used up all of it's bandwidth last month and the large graphics in the signatures doesn't help with that.

Please do this ASAP or I will have to turn the signatures off. Thanks.

So as an update to this post, signature banners/pictures should not be larger than 60 High and 450 long

Please adjust accordingly, thanks.

Why my sig is 390x135 - 94 K. I don't see the problem with keeping it. Not to cause any problems with Raiderbabe, for whom I thank for all the help she has given me in the past. Her signature is about the same size as mine. Hers is 423x100. I really don't see you getting on her about her's.

not trying to be cheeky...but if there is just one size that everyone sticks too then it would be far easier...plus as Zen suggests...I think that size is going to be most efficient as it doesn't stand so tall.

Thanks koisty, yes basically what you said. Basic banner size for linking is 468 by 60 I think that 60 feels a little small so I raised it to 80 tall. That should be plenty for most people.

Chris not to sound mean or anything but please don't spoil it for the rest of us...I just figured out how to make and use the damn things. I'm not going to be happy if we can't use them any more. Mine ok if it's small? I just saw that it was something like 91 tall, but its kinda small..that ok?

I am not trying to but I have used the same signature in over 30 forums I am a member of and this is the only group that has problems with it.

Lee Anne, let's stick with 80 tall

Image

I resized yours as an example and made the file size smaller.

In the interest overall of keeping the board performing as well as possible, the smaller signature files sizes are a must. so not taller than 80 and not wider than 450, also the file size needs to be smaller than 40kb

The more signatures the board has and the more photos and stuff that are placed into threads, the more time the board and the threads take to load, this is a big problem for those people who are still on dial up.

Thanks for your understanding on this issue.
